Taxpayers group needs your help

Ever wanted to ask politicians a pointed question about something that's been bugging you before they're elected?

Well, then, you're just the person the Concerned Wyoming County Taxpayers' Political Action Committee needs.

Secretary Kim Teeters is heading up a group that is preparing a ‘2010 Wyoming County Voters' Guide' and it is looking for questions to pose to candidates running in the May 18 Primary.

That would include anyone running for seats now held by U.S. Senator Arlen Specter, U.S. Rep. Chris Carney, Gov. Ed Rendell, Lt. Gov. Joe Scarnati, State Sen. Lisa Baker, and Reps. Karen Boback, Sandra Major and Jim Wansacz.

The one-year-old watchdog group which doesn't take a stand in the way of party affiliation but unashamedly lets it be known that it is opposed to just about any new taxation is concerned that it may miss some key issues of interest to some voters but not others.

So Teeters is hoping you will call or write your questions down and forward them to her by phone or email.

Therefore, she said, "We are asking the people of the county to let us know what issues or questions they would like to see addressed in the voters' guide."

All questions/issues can be submitted to WCCTPAC by email at kimteeters@wcctpac.org or by USPS at RR 1 Box 425, Falls, PA 18615.

Teeterrs said they are looking to compile the questions by mid-February and get them out to all announced candidates so the responses are out to voters in a timely fashion, before May 18.

Thus, Teeters said the Concerned Taxpayers Group needs your questions no later than Feb. 7.

Teeters also reminds that the group meets at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Tunkhannock Township municipal building on Rt. 92.
